Why do spammers post spam comments in wordpress blog. I am getting hundreds of Spam comments for my wordpress, of course every spam is blocked by my Akismet Plugin. What i want to ask is what do Spammers get by doing this?

I too getting spam comments. They are not given by real persons. They are given by online bot backlink generators. Akismet is very good in blocking those.
If you pay any scam company some good amount for say, 1000 backlinks, then they target unprotected blogs by commenting through bots.
You may use captcha for preventing bot comments.

Most of the spammers post links to their websites to get more traffic.some also spam to hack into personal information.
