@ Ravi

Actually, this plugin is called, “WordPress Automatic Upgrade”

Download From Here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/

You can also search it via your dashboard, and you can also install it by uploading plugin files to plugins directory manually.

The plugin is available in the WordPress plugins database. Try to search through the backend or else directly download the plugin from here – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/ and try to activate it. Next run the same and this would perform a step by step blog upgrade.

I could find the plugin, but now the problem is the plugin is compatible upto wordpress version 2.7.1 and at present I am using wordpress 3.0. What to do?

I think one solution is, its not great but it works. downgrade your wordpress to version 2.7. It’s very simple to downgrade, just save your wp-content and and wp-config.php from your database to your computer and Install wordpress 2.7 and then copy back the wp-content and and wp-config.php.

I am new to wordpress and i am not really sure whether the above solution works or not. Contact Amit before doing this.

I don’t understand why you are trying to look for this plugin. This plugin’s functionality is inbuilt into WordPress 3.0 now and hence this plugin is useless for your WordPress version. Just head to Dashboard>>Updates and from there you can upgrade your WordPress and even your plugins/themes.

@ gurrambharath
I think that’s a good suggestion. What are your comments on this Amit, can we downgrade wordpress in this manner or what other options are there to downgrade the wordpress?

There are all different opinions listed here and most of them would work, also another option is to remove the ftp files and folders. Re-upload free wordpress latest version installation files, edit wp-config file and add your current database details and then install the blog again, which could fix all the errors including the permissions issues.
