How to limit a single blog post without effecting category page & archive page

Hello
Can some body help me, i have changed arthemia theme and now using WP-Soul theme for my blog http://www.accountinghead.com, My problem is that this theme does not support post summery in home page. so i when i select 5 post in wp settings, it shows a complete post in home page. but category page shows summery of 5.
Can any body suggest me code to limit single post with out effecting category page.or how to make the summery of posts in home page
( I have made 1 in Setting>> Reading >>Blog page shows at most 1 post, then my catogory page also showing one post)

Note : Liked your homepage where you mentioned that the blog is inspired by me. Would suggest you to remove the comment from – ‘Jobrapido – dominika sieka’ as its a SPAM and you are displaying that comment on the homepage.

Hi amit thank you for your reply . the step is not clear. you have given a a small bit of code, you mean to replace this code with entire code in index.php.
Ya amit I started blogging just because of you. Fortunately I came across your site in search of broadband rate or something, Then read your profile page. I thought to have a try. But i didnt know there is a blog engine like wordpress. i thought all these blogs and websites were made of with hand written html code. It was you told me that we need a web hosting to use wordpress. from there i started to research on internet about wordpress and blogging.
I am not telling that i am a successful blogger. but still manage to make 6000 to 6500 a month which is fairly good addition to regular income from my day job.

set your posts per page as 1. you can found this by following this path..

The solution is listed here in the answer of this question – http://answersnext.com/tech-support/show-full-or-except-post-on-homepage-or-category-pages/ You need to copy that code and replace with the full content code available in the index.php file of the new theme folder. Let me know if the steps are not clear.
