From my experience adding bookmark to high pr sites help me to increase banklinks and thus SERP also get benefits .

Hi,
Always copying content from other sites are not good practice. But I would say you can read content from other sites and include the ideas and write of your own , that is what 90 % of websites does. There are very few websites who write their own ideas and articles. But never copy the exact same content from other sites and it may invite you penalty form Google as well
