I want to know how to take screenshots of particular section in mac desktop or window?

I have to use external applications like Jing to take screenshots. Please help.

There are keyboard shortcuts to take screenshots in Mac -
Just hold Command + Shift + 3 together and the screenshot of entire screen is taken and saved as a file on the desktop.
Hold Command + Shift + 4 and you will be given crossbars to take screenshot of any particular part of the screen rather than everything.
