Not able to run .exe files on Computer

Hi I am notable to run .exe files I download a song and after that when I clicked on it to listen it didn’t play but many of shortcut icons got changed in vlc shortcut.

Maybe it’s an virus or another security threat. The song you downloaded may be in this format “–name–.mp3.exe” You are hacked. it is possible for me like advanced computer user to encapsulate a batchfile under an common exe(ghost application)(i.e, vlc.exe). In this case, executing the exe file, makes first execution of batch commmands(I can do anything which can be done in dos, like copying, deleting, altering etc etc) and then executes the real exe file. So, user cant see what is happening as the exe file is same icon’ed and executes same application. for internet downloaded exe and other stuffs, I recommend to use a strong antivirus with latest updates, and use 7-zip to see the contents of the exe file before execution. For ghost applications, 7-zip shows the bat file,and the original exe file, which you should extract and run.

You have to install winzip software.Then only you can run .exe extented files

Get the exe files fix for the exe files to remove the file from ZIP and then double click on the downloaded file to get it, after that pull the together with this file to your computer. Another solution would be changing the file opening format from the current one to default application.
