How to move the volume (muted) from the list of past items?

I could not hear any songs/speech etc.from my computer as the volume control cannot move to the current items in customize notification.How can solve this problem?

To show the sound icon goto Run>Type ‘msconfig’>select services>check(mark) windows audio>restart windows.

You just goto control panel–> Sound. There you select the right level of sound. The location may vary by varying OS. Search something like sound etc, in control panel, or preferences.
