How to add sub-blogs recent posts excerpts in main blog index page? techcrunch.com is displaying excerpts of their other blogs excerpts in the techcrunch.com index page.

Basically adding the recent blog posts of some other blogs on your main blog , and displaying them as part of the same blog would be a bit harder because i could not find any links to this kind of plugin but if you are looking for something like this where the other blog links are shown then you can find a RSS Widget option within your Widgets under Appearance section and activate it.
You can a see a live demo of this on the homepage of http://www.amitbhawani.com/ where other blog links are shown on the sidebar using RSS Feed Widget!
