Hi, this section is created using bbpress script which is a blogging forum script which can be a good option if you want to run a community along with a blog and all the settings for the extentions are normally handled using .htaccess files for modrewrite rules. In case of wordpress you have a option of permalinks system where you can decide which extention you want for your blog like .htm, .html, .php or even .amit
