Update of old version means some upgrade and patch to previous version to make it work in present conditions.
New version means, a completely new fresh version.

Latest Update of the Software mean fixing little problems, incompatiblities, minor tweaks etc. There can be lot’s of Updates for a Version. Latest Version of the software is a Complete Software Download with all these tweaks combined, means all the latest updates combined.
